Secret Santa Gifts for Dog Lovers Under £20
You've pulled a name out of the hat, and the only thing you know about them is that they talk about their dog. A lot. Good news: that's all you need. Here are Secret Santa gifts for dog lovers that come in under £20, from personalised presents to clever little extras for walks.
A quick note on honesty: Waggle & Ink sells some of the gifts in this guide, and we've linked to them. Everything else is a general idea. Nobody has paid us to mention it. Our products show original breed illustrations with your dog's name, not portraits drawn from a photo. Prices were correct in October 2026.
The detective work
For a personalised gift you'll need the dog's name, breed and roughly what colour it is. Most dog owners have a photo on their desk, phone or social media. If not, a casual "What's your dog called again?" by the kettle does the job. Find out early. Personalised gifts are printed to order, so you'll need to allow time before the office party.
Personalised Secret Santa gifts under £20
1. A personalised dog mug: £17.99
The office Secret Santa classic, done properly. Our personalised dog mug shows an illustration of their dog's breed and coat with the dog's name, printed on both sides. It'll be on their desk by January. Free UK delivery keeps it under budget.
2. A wooden dog Christmas decoration: £17.99
A wooden Christmas decoration in a heart, oval or bell shape, printed in full colour with their dog's portrait and name. It's small, easy to post and comes out every year, so they'll remember who gave it.
3. A mug with a coloured inside: £19.99
Just squeezing in. The coloured-inside mug has a black, pink, blue or yellow inside and handle. Great for the colleague who likes things bright.
Our breeds right now are the Cockapoo, Labrador, French Bulldog, Cocker Spaniel and Dachshund, with twelve more coming soon. Unsure which coat colour? See our Breed Guide.
Non-personalised gifts under £20
Don't know the dog's name, or short on time? These are all usually easy to find for under £20:
4. A collar light
A rechargeable clip-on light for the collar or harness. Winter walks in the dark become safer and less stressful.
5. A snuffle mat or lick mat
Rainy-day entertainment for the dog, and ten minutes' peace for the owner.
6. A treat pouch
Clip-on, easy to wash and endlessly useful for training.
7. A poo bag holder and a roll of bags
Unromantic? Yes. Used every single day? Also yes.
8. A microfibre dog towel
The best friend of anyone who walks a dog through a UK winter.
9. Dog-safe treats
Choose treats made for dogs, and check for allergies if you can. Never give human Christmas treats to dogs. The Royal Kennel Club warns that chocolate, Christmas cake, mince pies and Christmas pudding (which contain raisins, currants or sultanas), and onion stuffing can all be harmful.
10. A small charity gift
A donation to a dog charity in the dog's name, with a card, is a thoughtful option that fits any budget.
Can you get a dog print under £20?
Our prints start a little over budget (the personalised A4 print is £20.99, and the non-personalised breed print is £21.99). If your office has a strict £20 limit, the mug or the decoration is the way to go. If your Secret Santa is a little more flexible, a personalised A4 print is a lovely desk-to-wall gift.
Wrapping it up
A personalised mug fits neatly in a small gift box, and a wooden decoration slips into a card-sized envelope. If you're wrapping a decoration, tie it to the outside of the parcel as a gift tag that doubles as the present. It's a nice touch that costs nothing extra. Add a note that says "for you and [dog's name]", and you'll be the office favourite until at least February.
Top tips for a dog-lover Secret Santa
- Order early. Personalised items are printed to order in 2-5 working days, then delivered in 2-5 working days. Check our Christmas order dates.
- Double-check the spelling. Is it "Alfie" or "Alfy"? We print exactly what you type, and we'll email you if something looks off.
- Want to be sure? Tick "Send me a proof" and approve the design before it's printed. It's free, but it adds a little time.
- Send it to yourself, not the recipient, so you can wrap it.
- Two dogs? The Two-Dog Mug is £21.99, so a touch over £20, but worth it to avoid a diplomatic incident.
